Zu Beginn der Partie lässt sich die mit nur elf Spielern angereiste SpVgg Greuther Fürth vom Schweizer Zweitligisten FC Vaduz regelrecht überrennen. Doch weil die Roten das Tempo der Anfangsphase nicht über 90 Minuten halten können und das Kleeblatt langsam aufdreht, wäre die Führung und der Sieg am Ende doch noch möglich gewesen. Durch starke Torwartleistungen auf beiden Seiten bleibt es dann aber doch beim 0:0. Zwar lässt das Ergebnis noch zu wünschen übrig, die Kampfbereitschaft des Teams stimmte aber bereits.
